DPD Print & Promotions are based at the former Linotype and Machinery Co. Ltd factory in Altrincham, Cheshire. This building was opened in 1899, it was here that over 2,000 workers produced a print machine that revolutionised the printing and newspaper industry in much the same way that computers have changed the industry today.
The machine was exported all over the world and at the outbreak of the First World War it was estimated that there were 30,000 linotype machines in operation across the globe.
